So I've been a little out of it and haven't updated in a while. Well, I got some good news this week. I am FULLY FUNDED. For those of you unfamiliar, this means that I do not have to pay tuition and I will actually be PAID to go to graduate school. I will get about 12500 for a stipend which should cover my living expenses. I might have to take out an additional loan, or use some of my inheritance money from my father for a car and any additional expenses. YAY so I'm a happy girl.

Last night my mother came into Boston to see the fireworks with Kevin and I. As we were sitting there watching thousands of people walk by, suddenly my brother Shamus and his girlfriend pop up right in front of us. It was a welcome surprise, and they sat with us for the duration of the extravaganza! It was a bittersweet experience because although it was great, I realized that it would probably be my final July 4th in Boston, let alone MA for a long while. So is the way one grows up.

Today I have been trying to help Kevin write cover letters for law firms. It's a very long process, but it has to be finished by midnight, so he's buckling down.

The red soc are currently playing and are LOSING. Oh well.

This upcoming weekend I am going to Maine with Melissa to look at the new place. It's so strange because it feels like it was just a few days ago that I decided to move in with her. Time sure flies when you're doing nothing. Typically you think it flies by when you're busy, but I'm really not busy at all and this summer is flying by. It's probably because I'm having a very nice time with Kevin. Hopefully these next five years aren't.... awful for us. Talk to me then.

Thanks for reading, I'll keep up with the blog more now that I'm not running all around the northeast.

Old Town? More Like a New Town To Me....

Today I committed to living with Melissa. It seems there will be another girl who will be living there as well, Alana. I feel that I remember who she is, but I could be mistaken. It seems this is going to be a very nice, calming, and QUIET living experience. Just right for me! Bella should enjoy the new house, mostly spending her days sitting in my room sunning herself. There will even be another kitty there for her to be friends with. Even if she doesn't like the cat though, she'll most likely just spend all her time in my room anyways. I am really happy because this is the first time I have ever gone into living with roommates and felt that it was a perfect fit for me and my needs.

It sounds as if she will be doing a lot of repairs before I even get there, but the place is really nice. I don't know how the rooms will be split up, but I'm sure it will be fair. Also, I will only really be pendin about 400 dollars for rent if the three of us live there. That is a HUGE different form the 1175 we're currently paying to live in Boston.

I will miss a lot of things about Boston, but I am ready for an adventure. I have never lived outside of MA except for summer camp (in Maine :)) when I was 14. I hope it is something that isn't too scary. I will miss my family, Kevin, and the friends I have made the past 22 years. However, I will be coming home as often as I can to see my new little Ladybug. I'm going to spoil her rotten.

Unfortunately for me, my apartment has gone back on the market. This means I can no longer feel comfortable walking around in a towel or lack there of for fear of an eager realtor coming in uninvited. Oh well. Gotta make a living I suppose.

Yoshi stopped by today for like 30 minutes to chat. It was nice to see him, so I hope I can see him again sometime soon. We discussed some interesting things in regards to his friends. It was a fun time.

We got some good news last night. Kevin is number 19 in his law school class of 216 people. Yay Kevin! He will most likely hear from the write-on competition soon, and see if he has made law review.

Doesn't look like he's going to transfer. So we'll see how the next few years play out. :(

However this is the time for our careers, we'll probably end up together in the end and have super well informed and well adjusted children. Lovely.

My Cohort

Today has been a lazy day. Much like yesterday, the day before, and every other day that I can remember in the not so distant past. I have a feeling that this summer is going to be great in regards to making me so bored that I will WANT to start having a tremendous work schedule (cue me 4 months from now reading this blog entry and grinding my teeth).

So far I have emailed with pretty much all of my future classmates. They are all so nice and are very open to being friends:). I am hoping that graduate school will be a much different experience than undergrad. I have a feeling that the fact that majority of my cohort (except for Monica) is older than myself will come in handy in that respect. I have always gotten along better with people who were a few years older than myself. However, Monica and I have talked and she seems really awesome too, so this should be a fun few years.

Today I tried to pay it forward on the high school SDN forum and answer a few questions about psychology related professions and how to attain them. So many of them have no idea what psychology is, what you study, and have some diluted expectation that all you have to do to get an A is have "common sense." Um sorry, that's incorrect. I have done my good deed for the day.

In a few minutes I am going to walk over to Copley (for some exercise, not because I actually enjoy walking that far) to get my new phone. "Braylon" from Verizon was trying to swindle me, and I just told him to call HJR because she was the one who really cared about the issue . Like usual she fixed everything and now I am going to get a new phone. No matter how old I get, I have a feeling that I will always rely on her to do my dirty work. I don't like making people's jobs difficult and get flustered very easily when I can tell I've upset someone. However I seem to have no problem making HJR do the dirty work (secretly I think she likes sticking up for her cubs). Tonight the Bachelorette is on (why do I watch this junk) and then afterwards Kevin and I will watch another episode of Obsessed. This is a show I have really come to enjoy. It focuses on the pre treatment, treatment, and post treatment of people who have obsessive compulsive disorder. The treatment that the psychologists use is actually CBT. I know- what a perfect show for me. For those unaware, I will be studying anxiety, mood, and eating disorders come graduate school, and one of my many interests is the advancement of CBT for these disorders.

This weekend I am pretty booked. I am leaving Thursday morning with my mother to go down to Marshfield after she finishes her overnight at the Samaratins. Then I will nap. Then Thurs nigh Caitlin, my sister, is picking me up and we'll have dinner and start on the nursery. She is huge-o preg-o so she cannot paint really, so that job is left to me. Then after this weekend, Kevin, my mother, and I will be driving up to Utica to attend BubbyRu's 2nd birthday party. I haven't seen him since Thanksgiving and miss that little curly haired cutie.

Right now, I am looking for recipes to make for dinner. I am wanting to make something chickeny that doesn't have TOO many ingredients. I could always just throw something together and force Kevin to eat it, but we'll see.

Last night I watched True Blood's season 2 premier. It was alright. Luckily Lafayette lives, so I can be happy with my life once again.

That is all for now, I hope to have satisfied your curiousity.

Welcome

Hello Internet World,
After watching some television with Kevin today, I have decided to start a blog (these two things have nothing in common, however I wanted to give Kevin a shout out. Hi Kevin!) After wasting countless hours a day keeping up with blogs belonging to people I have never met , I decided I can waste MORE of my time writing my own! Who would have thought? So this blog has no real purpose. It is basically just here to document my life post-undergrad. It will keep my family and friends updated on the day to day struggles and the long journey the goes along with becoming Dr. McGillicuddy. No, I am not furthering my career to become a tastey alcoholic beverage. I am going to graduate school to become a clinical psychologist. If you aren't a dork like me, that might sound pretty boring, however I am super excited, so humor me. You will see anything from rants about statistics to delicious meals I am creating, crazy things I saw last week on Lost, or the exciting new people I am meeting in Maine on this very blog. Anything is fair game. So come one, come all and enjoy my happiness, sympathize with me when I just can't do any more homework, or just come here instead of going to bored.com. I hope to keep this blog as up to date as possible, and if I forget, please remind me.
Thanks for coming!
